Issues with old site?

Old and tired looking. Not very user friendly. Difficult for users to quickly navigate to items they needed. Golf Genius was poorly integrated.

 

Challenges before

Customer satisfaction was very low. We were failing the golfers of County Durham by not providing a reliable, user-friendly, informative website. This in turn created an increased admin burden which was having an adverse effect on day-to-day management tasks.

The ability to quickly add news articles with photos or videos ensures that information is fresh and interesting.

The structure of the pages and menus ensures ease of navigation, where visitors can access what they require with very few clicks…typically, just 1 or 2.

What’s been the difference ?

We have a website that is functional, for starters! Golfers in Durham had understandably given up on relying on our website due to our problems with during the year, but even now during the ‘close season’ we’re seeing an increase in visits. I’m receiving comments that people are pleased with what we now have…even though we realise we have work to do to improve what we provide on the site.

I now receive substantially less phone calls and emails for requests for help or information than I was getting before the site went live. This is due to the fact that we are now able to have up-to-date information on the site that visitors can access easily. It’s visually and operationally far better than what we had previously.

 

We have live leader boards, last seasons results easier to find and also full online diary with links to Golf Genius, the venue and google directions all synchronised in one to the players phone. Making it simpler for players to plan their season.

Results

  • Visitors now spending 4:42 Average
    • 2x times increase in time on site from 2:25s to 4:42
    • Page Views per user 3 x increase from 1.96 to 6.01
    • Visitors per day up by over 3x
  • In December DCGU had double the traffic in the off-season than previous site had in peak season July-Oct.
